Cheesy AF: 5 Yum Fest eats that are totally covered with cheese

We’re gearing up for Yum Fest at The Jam Factory, our free, weekend-long food festival that runs from 3-11pm tomorrow and Sunday.

In addition to a molam extravaganza with All-Thidsa Molam Band on Saturday, we have Thai indie rockers Somkiat playing on Sunday, eating contests on both days, food tours, and entertainment but — let’s get real — we’re mostly getting prepped to eat, and the festival’s food highlights include Daniel Thaiger, Vivin, and The Dock.

Some of the things we are most looking forward to stuffing in our faces are delights that are totally covered in cheesy goodness.

Not to be cheesy, but here is our list of Yum Fest’s top 5 treats that are totally, completely, delightfully drenched in cheese:

1. Brick oven pizza – Peppina’s pizzas have won awards for their taste, quality, and authenticity. We’d like to give them an unofficial award for being totally cheesy and delish. Whether you go for a basic margarita or a meaty feast of a pie, this will curb your cheese craving — at least for a few minutes.

2. Signature nachos – One of our favorite night market stalls, Doni Nacho, will be on hand doing what they do best — dripping rivers of cheese over mountains of crispy, salty tortilla chips. Purists can take their nachos simple while those who like their food a bit extra can add a variety of toppings.

3. Cheesy fries – the name of this place says it all, Just Fries serves up piles of deep-fried, crispy delightful fries. The only thing that makes fries better is smothering them until they are almost invisible with thick, rich cheese. You’re gonna have to dig these suckers out with a fork.

4. Cheese foam tea – Betcha weren’t expecting this one. The Asian delicacy cheese tea, which mixes tea with milk, sugar and creamy cheese, gets a twist from our friends at Cha Chak Ko-In who top their creamy milk tea with a cheese foam topping, perfect for Instagram.

5. Brie grilled cheese – Ok, fine. Technically this sandwich from Sourced Grocers is not covered in cheese but it is totally stuffed with ooey, gooey, rich and cheesy brie. Which means, when we are tired of things covered in cheese (we’re still waiting for that to happen), we’ll detox with something stuffed with cheese instead.
