Jakarta is definitely not a tourist-friendly city, nor is it a particularly welcoming city for new residents. While we believe there are many great things about the capital, we also acknowledge that it can sometimes be very hard to experience these things without experiencing a lot of the bad stuff first and learning through trial and error. The purpose of our City Guides is to show you those aspects of Jakarta that you would only learn about yourself if you were a long time resident of the capital - although we hope even lifetime Jakartans will learn new things about the city from our guides.
