Police in Bali have arrested the wife of a Balinese politician who is on the run after a raid on his Denpasar home turned up illicit drugs and weapons.

Ni Luh Ratna Dewi was finally arrested on Tuesday after being on police’s wanted list herself for three days, Bali Police Chief Insp. Gen. Petrus Reinhard Golose confirmed to reporters.

But police have refused to disclose where exactly the arrest was made, as two suspects remain at large: Dewi’s husband, vice deputy of the Bali Regional Legislative Council (DPRD), Jro Gede Komang Swastika, alias Mang Jangol, and Jangol’s brother, I Wayan Sudana, alias Wayan Kembar.

The Bali police chief insists Jangol is a public threat, that he’s allegedly become a drug dealer and because he’s in possession of illegal firearms.

“I often say that if the suspect is dangerous and resists, they must be dealt with firmly. No more compromises,” Golose said, as quoted by Bali Post

To track down the whereabouts of Jangol and his brother, Golose has appealed for help from local village heads in Denpasar.

“I ask for help from them if they know the location of the suspect, immediately inform us,” Golose said.

Jangol has been on police’s wanted list since Nov. 4 when his home was raided and he evaded arrest. In his home, police found methamphetamine, along with two airsoft guns, five daggers, a brass kris dagger, an airsoft cartridge box, four bongs, two accounting books, and five gas airsoft guns.

Police tried to arrest him, but he allegedly locked himself inside a room, escaped through the window, and has been on the run ever since, according to reports.

In line with the orders from Golose to deal with the suspect firmly, Denpasar Police Chief Hadi Purnomo says if Jangol is apprehended and resists arrests, that he “will be shot in place.” Indonesian police seem to have a knack for shooting fugitives right in the leg “as they’re trying to escape.”

Police say they believe Jangol is still in Bali and have flagged his passport so he will not be able to exit Indonesia.
