For its second edition, Art Bali comes back this year with “Speculative Memories” as its theme, bringing more than 30 international and Indonesian artists to showcase their contemporary works at the AB•BC Building in ITDC Nusa Dua. Organizers say that the artworks displayed at this exhibition is a manifestation of various realities, explored through a number of possibilities.

The exhibition is ongoing until January 13, 2020. Exhibition opens daily from 11am to 9pm, and tickets are IDR100,000 for Indonesian citizens, IDR150,000 for foreign citizens, available for purchase at the venue.

Seminyak Design Week 2019

Another event is coming back for its second edition in 2019, bringing with it the spirit of “Design for Better Community.” Design enthusiasts, you might want to jot this one down on your calendars as the 10-day event promises engaging talks, workshops, and other cool events, which will mostly take place at Gallery Vivere and Uma Seminyak.

When they say “design,” they really do mean across the board, as the event encompasses architecture, furniture, as well as interior, graphic, product and fashion design. Some of the things scheduled as part of the Week are free to attend, but their two-day TEMU Inspiring Talks Program, which features 14 speakers including Chitra Subyakto from textile label Sejauh Mata Memandang and designer Lulu Lutfi Labibi, does require purchasing tickets, with one-day passes being sold at IDR185K.

Saturday, Oct 18–Sunday, Oct 27 at Gallery Vivere and Uma Seminyak. More information can be found on the festival’s website and official Instagram page.

Kungs at OMNIA Bali

Twenty-two-year-old Valentin Brunel, who is better known by his stage name Kungs, shot to international success with “This Girl,” a 2006 track he collaborated with Cookin’ on 3 Burner that we’re still pretty much jamming to whenever it comes on these days.

This coming Saturday, the French DJ and record producer will take the stage at OMNIA Bali, following a lineup of famous international DJs that have graced the day club since it was opened last year. With that gorgeous view of the Indian ocean from the top of Uluwatu, one might want to get ready for a whole lot of dancing.

Saturday, October 19 at OMNIA Dayclub in Uluwatu. From 12pm onwards. The event is 21+ and presale GA tickets are IDR300,000++/person, available for online purchase here.

Beach Market at La Plancha

If you’re in the mood for something a bit more chill, then La Plancha’s second Beach Market on Saturday could be the right option for you. It’s a family friendly market where you can find home decor goodies, natural products, fashion items, tarot reading and live music. There will also be a kids area for those of you coming with the whole family. Why not stop by the market before spending your early evening by the beach for that lovely Seminyak sunset?

Saturday, October 19 at La Plancha, Seminyak, from 12pm to 9pm. Free entry.
