#Richkids: Angsty son of former minister crashes luxury car into 5 vehicles after argument with brother

If you grew up with siblings, you probably got into fights with them all the time. Maybe you even smashed some of their favorite things, like a beloved toy car. Most of us grow out of those kinds of childish temper tantrums. But some kids (especially pampered rich kids) remain capable of ridiculous tantrums even after becoming young adults. And what they smash can be a lot more expensive than a toy car…

Yesterday, two sons of former State-Owned Enterprises Minister Soegiharto got into an argument. This argument led the younger of the two to go on a rampage, smashing his luxury car into four cars and one motorcycle, injuring at least one person.

The older brother, Stephen, 25, told reporters that it all started when he and his fiancé wanted to take a photo in a Mercedes Benz AMG belonging to his brother, Andrew, 17.

“Before I was going to drop off [my fiancé] to work, I wanted to take a photo in this car (Andrew’s). So I went upstairs and I asked Andrew if he could take it out [of the garage] because I wanted to take a photo in it with my fiancé. He said there was no key. I said OK, I’ll just [take a photo] in the garage,” Stephen said, as quoted by Vivanews.

As their mother was taking Stephen and his fiancé’s photo in the car, Andrew suddenly came out all upset and told them not to go near his car or he’d smash Stephen’s car.

Andrew then drove his AMG out. But he soon returned with their father’s car, a Toyota Alphard Vellfire, and deliberately crashed it into the side of Stephen’s Chevrolet Captiva (geez, so many cars). Andrew evidently hadn’t cooled down by that point as he then drove out of their Kebayoran Baru home and went towards Senopati.

Stephen got into his car and chased his little brother. He even crashed Andrew’s car to try and slow it down and even stop it, but Andrew didn’t stop and crashed into four cars and a motorcycle in his rage.

The motorcyclist was reportedly injured, though the extent of his injuries has not been reported. Two of the cars Andrew crashed belong to the daughter of current Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo and actress Kartika Putri.

Their father, Soegiharto, said his family will claim all responsibility from the incident.

“Whenever and whoever, please come to us. The five [victims] have already come to us. If there are other victims who haven’t come forward, please do and we’ll see if they were [actually victims] and we’ll sort it out, however much [the cost],” Soegiharto said.

At the moment, there are no reports of this case being investigated by the police. Considering the people involved, we won’t hold our breath.
