Near the top of the list of completely unnecessary ways to die has got to be playing Russian Roulette. If you are not familiar with it, Russian Roulette is possibly the worst game to play in the world, as it involves putting a single bullet into a revolver, spinning the chamber around and having each player pull the trigger with the gun to their own head.
One of the few ways to make the game worse is to play it by yourself.
That is what Rudiyanto Iwan, a brigadier with Yogyakarta’s elite Mobile Brigade Unit (Brimob) did on Monday evening. Unsurprisingly he lost the game and took his own life.
According to a report by Viva, Rudiyanto was invited to the house of a fellow Brimob officers to have some drinks on the fateful night.
After ingesting what we must imagine was a tragic amount of alcohol, Rudiyanto pulled a revolver out of his bag, put a bullet in the chamber and started playing Russian Roulette with himself.
He allegedly pulled trigger twice before placing it against his head and firing a third time, this time hitting the chamber containing the bullet. Witnesses said the projectile went straight through his head and hit one of the house’s glass windows.
Yogyakarta Police acknowledged that the shooting took place but have not yet released any details as they say the case is still under investigation.
