Indonesian singer-songwriter-turned-actor Ardhito Pramono has been arrested for alleged marijuana use and possession today.

West Jakarta Police Chief Ady Wibowo initially told reporters that the police nabbed “a public figure, a big screen actor, songwriter, and singer” with the initials AP, only for Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Zulpan to later confirm the suspect to be Ardhito.

Police said that Ardhito was apprehended at his home in East Jakarta. Authorities seized an unspecified amount of weed from the raid, while Ardhito’s urine test came out positive for marijuana use.

The 26-year-old pop/jazz artist is still being questioned by authorities, and the police have yet to release details regarding the arrest as the case is still under investigation.

Ardhito’s arrest comes only a month after that of actor Rizky Nazar, who was apprehended in mid-December also for alleged use and possession of weed.

The news of Ardhito’s arrest has shocked his fans across Indonesia, thus putting his name into the trending topics on Twitter since this afternoon. Ardhito shot to fame in recent years thanks to his easy listening hits such as bitterlove, and he recently dabbled in acting through Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini (English title: One Day We’ll Talk About Today) in 2020 and its spin-offs, Story of Kale: When Someone’s in Love and Story of Dinda: Second Chance of Happiness last year.
