A man named Ridwan Solihin has been accused of the murder of a sex worker, identified by her initials OS (28), who was found dead in a hotel room in Karawang, West Java last Monday.

According to local police, OS checked in at the hotel the day before and had served two clients before Ridwan arrived late in the evening.

Before having intercourse with OS, police said Ridwan used sexual performance enhancers.

“The perpetrator consumed obat kuat and some kind of tissue,” Karawang Police Crime Investigation Unit Head Bimantoro Kurniawan said in a press conference today.

Obat kuat, which literally translates to “strong drug,” is a catch-all term for drugs that enhance sexual performance. Local media have understood Bimantoro’s “tissue” reference to mean tisu magic, which translates to “magic tissue” — wipes applied on the male genitalia to produce a sensation of numbness and delay ejaculation.

“Because [the intercourse] lasted too long, the victim protested. The victim then said some things that hurt the perpetrator’s feelings,” Bimantoro said.

Ridwan then suffocated OS, killing her. He then stole some of her belongings and left her body in the hotel room.

Police arrested Ridwan six days after the incident and charged him with murder. If convicted, he may face death penalty or life imprisonment.
