WARNING: Graphic video depicting car crash victims
By this point, you’ve probably seen the horrible video above, which depicts the moments after a horrific accident that took place last Sunday morning in Surabaya after 24-year-old Wiyang Lautner lost control of his Lamborghini, killing one and injuring two others. Wiyang can be seen calmly trying to text somebody on his phone as he hangs halfway out of the window of his wrecked supercar.
While it is still not known who Wiyang was trying to reach, it is possible that he was trying to contact his lawyer, AMoz HZ Taka, who has quickly and very publicly come to the defense of his client. Yesterday, he took out an advertisement in the Jawa Pos newspaper arguing that Wiyang was not responsible for the crash and threatening to sue media outlets and social media users that spread negative news about his clients without evidence.
The lawyer’s ad consists of four points. The first was that Wiyang was healthy and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the crash, as proven by laboratory tests done by the police after the crash.
The second is that the crash did not happen because Wiyang was racing somebody else, as was widely reported in the media.
The third point is that the accident happened because the Lamborghini’s right wheel skid due to the poor road conditions on the street the accident took place, which was also waterlogged.
The fourth point is that Wiyang and the victims had already reached an agreement that “the incident was very unfortunate.”
AMoz then goes on to warn media outlets, social media users and members of the community not to make or spread “negative news or statements that could be detrimental to his client without solid evidence,” and threatens to take legal action against those who do.
The ad ends with the lawyer thanking the Surabaya police for handling his client’s case professionally and fairly.
AMoz makes a very strong case. Clearly the reason for the accident was because of the poor road conditions and not because of Wiyang’s reckless driving. We look forward to seeing his future criminal case against the city for its fatal failure to keep the city’s streets well-maintained enough for a Lamborghini, that is going at a reasonable and legal speed, not to go flying off the road and into several people.
And clearly there’s no way Wiyang was under the influence of any drugs or alcohol, since we know the police would never ever change the results of a test due to being bribed by an incredibly rich family.
Good work AMoz, we’re sure that nobody will make any more unfair, negative statements about your client in the future.
