A Jakarta woman survived a dozen stab wounds Sunday after her date with a man she met through a dating app turned into a violent nightmare.

According to the police, the victim, a 19-year-old woman identified by her initial E, had agreed to meet up with the unidentified assailant at a hotel in Tamansari, West Jakarta.

Once there, the two checked into a room where he stabbed her numerous times in what appears to be a planned robbery.

“[E] did not die, she was wounded. There were 12 stab wounds,” Tamansari Police Chief Abdul Ghofur told Kompas today.

E was found lying in a pool of her own blood in the hotel room a while later.

Amazingly, Abdul said that the victim has sufficiently recovered and has been discharged from the hospital.

“[The assailant] took the victim’s phone and ring,” he added.

Police say they are in pursuit of the assailant and investigation into the case is ongoing.
