Some people in the city have serious cases of road rage. More worrying still, some of those people are carrying firearms.

An unidentified driver took out some sort of firearm and shot out the rear tire of an Express taxi after their two cars softly collided on Jalan Kapten Piere Tendan in Mampang, South Jakarta this morning.

“It was believed the two cars brushed [against each other],” said Mampang Police Chief Priyo Utomo, as quoted by Warta Kota today.

The man shot through the taxi’s rear bumper and into the rear left tire, puncturing it completely.

The police haven’t been able to determine if the weapon used fired bullets or if it was a gas-powered gun.

Luckily, whatever the weapon was, the shooter didn’t fire it at the taxi driver or the passenger and he just drove away.

The taxi driver reported the shooting to the police, along with the shooter’s license plate. The police are still hunting down the suspect.
