It’s hard to deny that digital payment services have made our lives that much easier, so it’s pretty cool that the luxury has now been extended to popular binge-watching platform Netflix, which now accepts GoPay.

Previously, Netflix users in Indonesia could only use either debit or credit cards to (legally) subscribe to the platform; though GoPay was already available for other over-the-top streaming platforms in Indonesia such as Viu, WeTV, Vidio, and Disney+ Hotstar, to name a few.

In this promotional video, GoPay parodied popular Spanish heist series Money Heist (La casa de papel), in which one of the masked and red-hooded robbers demanded for Gojek’s e-payment service to be available on the streaming platform.

Netflix has already had a trial run for the GoPay payment option since June, which was available for select users. Checking to see if we could change our payment method on our existing Netflix account, the GoPay option has yet to pop up. However, it appears to be available for those signing up for a new account, though.

The Netflix subscription fees in Indonesia range from the Mobile package at IDR54,000 (US$3.78) per month to the Premium package at IDR186,000 (US$13) per month, which offers 4K + HDR resolutions and can be accessed from four different devices simultaneously.
