Gang shoots gas station employee in the eye, steals Rp 185 million in Depok

More gun-related violence took place today in Depok, where an armed gang robbed a gas station in broad daylight on Jalan Raya Cipayung. 

The thieves managed to make off with Rp 185 million in cash after they shot Endang, a 34-year-old gas station employee, right in the eye.

Depok Police public relations officer Ipda Bagus Suwardi said the incident was first reported by a witness, Mat Soleh, who thought the sound of gunfire was just a burst tire, until he saw Endang.

“He saw someone who was lying covered in blood as a result of being shot. The witness and other residents then rushed him to the hospital,” said Bagus, as quoted by Vivanews

The cold-blooded gang of thieves managed to escape with the aforementioned Rp 185 million.

Bagus said that Endang was a supervisor at the gas station known for taking large amounts of cash with him to deposit in the bank. 

Joko Santoso, another gas station employee in Depok, was also shot during a robbery on April 9.
