Not the animals from the slaughterhouse but probably just as cute
It’s been a while since we heard from the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI). We’ve always been on their case for being such awful conservative hard-liners, but this time we can’t help but herald them as animal-saving heroes.
Hundreds of FPI Bekasi members raided an animal slaughterhouse early this morning. Not just an ordinary slaughterhouse – this particular one was illegal and slaughtered pigs and DOGS.
The head of FPI Bekasi, Budi said they found that the pig and dog meat was being sold to 15 customers during the raid.
“We also found two live pigs that were tied up and shoved inside a sack with their snouts out,” Budi told Gobekasi today.
The FPI suspect that the meat cuts from the pigs and dogs were passed off and sold as beef to unsuspecting buyers.
What’s even worse is how inhumanely horrifying the slaughterhouse killed the animals.
Budi said that according to the slaughterhouse owner, they killed dogs by dipping their heads in boiling water. While we would never even think about killing a dog, that seems like such an inefficiently slow and horrific way to go about it.
Meanwhile, the pigs were killed by being stabbed in their anus while they were still alive.
FPI Bekasi is pressuring the city administration to shut down the slaughterhouse as it doesn’t have the right permits and for its inhumane slaughter methods.
“The Bekasi city administration should be tough against them, not to let them be. This is the kind of thing that could be detrimental to the health of citizens,” Budi said.
“If this place is left open we’ll show the Bekasi city administration how to properly shut down an illegal slaughterhouse.”
