Dozens of residents of Kedungotok Village, located in the Tembelang sub-district of Jombang in East Java, are demanding that the head of village planning, a man named Siswanto, resign from his position after photos of him prominently displaying his penis as he masturbated inside the village’s office suddenly sprung up on social media.

“We demand Pak Sis step down from his position, because there are pornographic photos of him scattered on social media. Moreover, it was done in the village office,” one villager named Budi Utomo told reporters yesterday as quoted by Detik.

In fact, the villagers complained that the compromising photos, in which the village planning head can be seen still wearing his uniform, had allegedly been spread online since late last month but the local government had yet to take any action against him.

Police mediated with the protesters yesterday and the local police chief explained to them that Siswanto had actually reported the photos to them himself, arguing that he was the victim of a blackmail scheme committed by a woman he had recently met virtually.

According to the Tembelang police chief Ismono Hadi, Siswanto was a married man but had been looking to cheat on his wife. He was somehow introduced to a woman and on August 14 they exchanged Whatsapp numbers after which she sent him some intimate photos. She asked for some photos of him with his “vital tool” (as the penis is sometimes euphemistically referred to in Indonesia) out. He complied, taking a few dick pics of himself in his home bathroom. Later that same day, he masturbated while on a video call with the woman while he was in the village office.

Unbeknownst to Siswanto, the person on the other end of the call recorded his onanistic action and soon after threatened to release images of him with his manhood out on social media if he didn’t send over money.

According to police, Siswanto fulfilled the first request for a mere IDR300,000 (US$20) but did not satisfy the second, much bigger request for IDR10 million.

Soon after, the scandalous photos of the civil servant were released onto social media via a Facebook account with the name of Puput Putri. However, police said they have not been able to track down the owner of the account or Siswanto’s blackmailer.

Police said they were still investigating the case and although it would definitely involve the Law on Information and Electronic Transactions (UU ITE) they had not yet determined if Siswanto would be charged as a suspect. UU ITE criminalizes the spread of pornographic materials online but also covers online fraud.

So while Siswanto’s fate is not yet clear, the lesson is, gentlemen — if a strange woman on the Internet asks you for pictures of your penis, know that there is 99.9999% chance they are just doing it to blackmail you because otherwise nobody wants to see that.
