It’s not everyday that a tank plows through motorcycles and a food cart, yet that’s exactly what happened in Indonesia today. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.

A tank belonging to an Indonesian Army unit in West Bandung regency, West Java was involved in a single accident this afternoon, which led to authorities paying compensation to a gorengan (fritters) seller and others whose vehicles were destroyed in the incident.

A 19-second clip of the incident, which occurred on Cipatat Street, has made its rounds on social media. It shows two tanks turning into the street when the second tank appeared to lose control and accelerated before crashing into a gorengan cart and several motorcycles parked on the roadside.

“There was an accident involving a tank from Cavalry Battalion 4, but it was just actually an ordinary accident. Four motorcycles and a gorengan cart were damaged,” Nana, who heads Cipatat sub-precinct’s traffic unit, said today.

Nana said the tank driver wasn’t able to properly adjust the war vehicle’s speed as it made the turn, which led to the crash. There were thankfully no casualties as the motorcycle owners and gorengan sellers all managed to get out of the tank’s way.

According to reports, the tanks drove through the street as it was returning to base from a military drill nearby.

Nana said the army will issue compensation for all the damages incurred in the incident.
