K-pop has bred much devoted fanaticism around the world in recent years, and that was especially on display in Jakarta yesterday.

Recently, a video has gone viral showing a horde of EXO-L —  a term for fans of the popular K-pop group EXO — going batshit crazy at a Jakarta mall trying to see their oppas up close. The fans, who mostly appear to be women (referred to as ukhti, which is the Arabic word for woman, in the caption of the viral video below, perpetuating a stereotype that most K-pop fans in Indonesia are women who wear the hijab), are seen stampeding from one floor to another as they race to get a glimpse of their idols.

Luckily, there were no reports of anybody getting hurt.

Here’s another video of another stampede from another section of the mall, featuring some confused mall patrons who don’t appear to be into EXO or K-pop:

Three members of EXO, namely Kai, Suho, and Chen, came to Jakarta for a fan meeting event with Korean skincare brand Nature Republic yesterday at Kota Kasablanka Mall. The singers also swung by the Jakarta office of their agency, SM Entertainment, at fX Sudirman

And while the Korean hearthrobs did not treat their militant fans to a song or two, the EXO-L were nonetheless delighted when the three members promised they would soon return with their full roster for a concert in Jakarta.
