The man who was once voted “The Greatest Frontman of All Time”, Liam Gallagher, was supposed to come to Jakarta for a concert on August 8, but, obviously, that didn’t happen. According to the concert promoters, the rescheduling was “not the initiative of the promoter but a unilateral decision by Liam Gallagher and his management due to scheduling conflicts and internal problems of their own.”
Well, whatever those internal problems were, the former Oasis frontman still seems intent on coming to Indonesia to play for his fans here as tickets for his rescheduled concert on January 14th are now on sale (tickets purchased for the August concert will still be honored).

During Oasis’ peak In the late 90s to mid-2000s, Liam Gallagher and his brother Noel were two of the biggest stars in the music world, considered by some to be the second coming of The Beatles. But infighting led to the eventual breakup of the band and the brothers, with Liam going on to form his own band with the remnants of Oasis, Beady Eyes.
Never managing to recapture the Oasis magic, Beady Eyes broke up in 2014. Despite Liam initially rejecting rumors that he would embark on a solo career afterward….

His Jakarta concert is part of a world tour to promote his new album “As You Were”. But recently, Liam has been known more for his odd antics and behavior than his music (even the press release for his Jakarta concert mentions “His erratic behavior, distinctive singing style, and abrasive attitude have been the subject of commentary in the press”).
Last month, a documentary clip of Liam making a cup of tea for himself before a concert, and then ranting about how he used to have people who made his tea for him, went viral.

“Now back in the 90s I used to go someone else to f*****g do it. But now I can’t, money is tight. ‘Too tight to mention. You’ve gotta do it yourself haven’t ya. No one buys records these days, in the 90s I had about four people doing it.”
If that sad tale moved you, you can support the rebuilding of Liam Gallagher’s tea-making team by attending his rescheduled concert, which is taking place at eConvention Ancol on January 14.
