Record Store Day is an annual event held in cities around the globe to “celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store”, bringing together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores. Record Store Day Indonesia will stretch across Saturday and Sunday and features a killer lineup of local indie heroes including The Adams, Dewa Budjana, Holy City Rollers, Vira Talisa and many more. In addition to special edition albums being pressed just for the event, a number of bands will also be releasing collector’s edition cassette tapes too! For more info

In honor of Kartini Day, this performance at Galeri Indonesia Kaya will feature monologues from three women talking about their issues in the private and public spheres. Each monologue was written by the performers and reveals the challenge and struggles that modern Indonesian women must deal with every day.  The performance is sponsored by Happy Salma with Yulia Evina Bhara’s Titimangsa Foundation.
