Lenny Ratnasari Weichert is a multimedia artist whose work explores conflicting aspects of human uniqueness. Dividing her time between Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Singapore and Germany, her latest exhibition, “Pilgrimage”, provides thought provoking insight into the contrasting pull of Eastern and Western aesthetic philosophy. Dance your butt off at Invasion Jakarta (Saturday) 

For EDM fans who can’t wait until December’s Djakarta Warehouse Project, Invasion Jakarta should provide you with enough body-rocking beats to last you a few months. Steve Angello of the Swedish House Mafia is headlining this indoor electronic dance musical festival, with the likes of Malaa, Dubfire Live and Gouryella taking over the two main stages. Greet fellow movie maniacs at HelloFest (Sat-Sun)

Dubbed “Southeast Asia’s largest movie concert & creativity expo” HelloFest should be a must-visit for fans of short film. Now in its 11th year, the festival will feature hundreds of shorts from Indonesia and abroad, as well as plenty of chances to check out quirky content from the worlds of animation, video and comics.  There will also be discussions led by creative industry leaders, Youtube artists performances and a cosplay competition. Be appreciated and party it up at De Hooi’s Customer Appreciation Party (Saturday)

De Hooi’s is a bastion of pub fun in deep South Jakarta, beloved by its many regulars thanks to its excellent program of regular events. And this Saturday, they’re holding a special bash to thank all of their fans and to celebrate the always bombastic Fritz Gheen’s 1001st day as manager. There’ll be live music, karaoke, a dance contest and tunes courtesy of DJ Vagas. Plus, plenty of drink specials that should keep this party cheerful indeed.
