If you’re familiar with Jakarta’s third-wave coffee scene, chances are you’ve been to, or at least heard of, Ombe Kofie. The coffee shop, which is one of the most premium brands in town, has opened its latest branch in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), a popular culinary hotspot in North Jakarta.
The new PIK outlet is said to be larger than their previous stores — such as the ones in Cikajang and Mall Kelapa Gading — with high ceilings and airy space. It also looks more luxurious thanks to its wooden coffee bar, while still maintaining their signature rustic aesthetic complimented by greenery.
Ombe Kofie PIK has not yet revealed if it’ll have its own unique menu items but you can expect dishes similar to those available at their other outlets such as Pork Chop Sambal Matah, Ombe Big Noodle, Truffled Avocado Toast with Smoked Salmon, and other popular comfort food options.
Owned by Jason Leo, Ombe Kofie began as a small neighborhood coffee shop in Pluit Sakti, North Jakarta in 2015. Their first foray south was the now-defunct Djule Kofi in Blok M. While other similar coffee shops sell their cappuccinos at around IDR35,000-40,000 (US$2.46-2.81), Ombe Kofie’s come in at a more premium point of around IDR50,000 after tax.
Today, Ombe Kofie has five locations in the Greater Jakarta Area, namely in Pluit, Mall Kelapa Gading 1, Summarecon Mall Bekasi, Cikajang, and PIK; as well as Maarkeze at Grand Indonesia.
