Dance until you drop at Djakarta Warehouse Project (Friday-Saturday)

The biggest dance party of the year is finally here! Club kids from around the region have flown into the capital for this weekend’s Djakarta Warehouse Project and with an amazing lineup of EDM legends like Carl Cox, Hardwell and Alan Walker, they are not likely to be disappointed. Get into the Star Wars spirit at Pacific Place

If you’re a fellow Jakarta Jedi, then you’ll know that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is hitting theaters here next week! To get into the proper Star Wars spirit, you can check out the impressive Rogue One Exhibition at Pacific Place mall. They’ve got a AT-AT (not quite life-size but not bad) VR display, a Christmas tree made of Tie Fighters and lots of other geeky delights. They are also running an Instagram contests to win free tickets to the movie.

Experience the life of heroic doctors on the frontlines at MSF’s “No Borders” exhibition and film screening

Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders) is a charitable NGO which sends and supports health workers on the frontlines of wars and humanitarian disasters where they are needed the most. The No Borders exhibition currently taking place at Grand Indonesia gives a glimpse into the realities faced by MSF’s patients, health workers and people in different parts of the world. Powerful photos capture human suffering and the power of humanity amidst epidemics like Ebola and the current refugee crisis. There will also be numerous speakers and documentary screenings. Hear streams of thought turn into poetry at Unmasked Open Mic Vol. 6 : Rivulets 

One of Jakarta’s biggest and best poetry events is back this Sunday for their last open mic of the year at Paviliun 28 in Kebayoran Baru. Everyone is welcome to read a poem – or just sit back and listen to the words flow. There will be a musical performance by Eros Tjokro. For more info check out the FB event page.

A young Indonesian artist on the rise, Natisha Jones opens up in this exhibition that allows audiences to explore the complex relationship between her conscious self, and her inner child, searching for self-expression and meaning within the paradoxes that arise in life.
