Park officials expressed their disapproval and called for legal action today against a young couple who celebrated their love at a remote beach in the south of Thailand after photos of their hip-to-hip action spread online.
The chief of Hat Chao Mai National Park and other sweaty park officials carefully studied a photo of a couple’s truck bed sex romp to confirm they did the deed at Chang Lang Beach. Just like the photos, the Trang province beach is accessible by a small path about 30 meters from the road and surrounded by pine and casuarina trees. Photos also show a mangrove island just offshore.
Park officials rushed to the location but only found some personal belongings including a pair of discarded shoes.
In response, park chief Phrit Narasartsuk said he would deploy personnel to closely watch the area in case anyone else comes along to play hide the mango. He threatened strict legal measures would be taken against future offenders.
Phrit added that all activities within the park must be conducted in accordance with laws and regulations – not hormones.
Images making the rounds on social media show a woman on all fours wearing only a yellow sweater pulled up over her hips. Another shows a man pressed up behind her, as if to keep her warm.
Public sex is a popular source for official consternation. While it usually goes on out of sight, more has ended up online with the advent of OnlyFans, a subscription-based website where anyone can make money with amateur porn. Numerous couples and other porn creators have gotten in hot water for having sex in public places after it goes viral.
Last year, YouTuber and adult content creator Arisa “Kwang” Homgroon was slut-shamed and forced to flee the country after several sex tapes leaked.
In 2021, Sukanya, a 19-year-old woman better known as Kai Nao, and her 20-year-old boyfriend Korakot were arrested for distributing and producing obscene content.
Some tourists mistakenly assume the ubiquity of commercial sex workers and red light entertainment for a libertine culture.
