A young woman was attacked in Denpasar, Bali last week by a man on motorbike who drove by and cut her leg.
Ni Luh Yuliarti needed 24 stitches on her right thigh after a man followed her home from work in the early hours of April 27 and slashed her.
The 22-year-old is reportedly a daily worker at a club in Legian and had been driving back home on a motorbike around 4am when she says she was attacked by a man who was also riding a motorbike, on Jl. Buluh Indah in Denpasar.
After slicing open her leg, the perpetrator immediately sped off, says Yuliarti. She described the perp to police as being about 170 centimeters tall with brown skin, medium-sized body and wearing a KLX helmet, long checkered shirt, and dark blue jeans. He was riding a Honda Vario, but Yuliarti says she was unable to get the plate numbers in all the shock and commotion of the attack.
After receiving medical treatment, Yuliarti reported the assault to West Denpasar Police.
West Denpasar Police Commissioner I Gede Sumena says the case is still under investigation.
CCTV cameras in various spots around the crime scene are being scanned for footage, while police are also searching for witnesses said Sumena.
Yuliarti is unfortunately not the first Indonesian woman to get attacked in a similar manner in Bali in recent years. There was a string of thigh-slashing in Bali back in 2016 and 2015.
