A TikTok video showing a teen’s reluctance to board her plane at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport has sparked widespread attention on social media.

The video, initially uploaded by the account @Jan Roni495, shows a couple, believed to be of Russian nationality, engaged in a heated argument with their daughter just before they were scheduled to board their flight.

The dispute arose when the daughter abruptly expressed her reluctance to return to her home country.

Despite the father’s attempts to persuade his daughter, she remained unresponsive, leading to his visible frustration and a forceful bag slam. Airport personnel swiftly intervened to mediate the situation, aiming to de-escalate the tension.

The intervention proved successful as the teenage girl eventually approached her parents, engaging in a dialogue. However, a disagreement ensued between the daughter and her parents, leaving the reason behind her reluctance to return home a mystery.

Airport authorities at Ngurah Rai Airport confirmed the incident. Yuristo Hanggoro, a spokesman of state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, stated that the family had originally planned to return to their home country on Friday.

However, as they prepared to board the plane, the daughter made a sudden about-face, opting to distance herself from her parents. Yuristo emphasized that the matter has since been resolved, with the entire foreign family, including both parents and the child, successfully boarding their flight.

“All good, it happened on Nov. 3. It’s already clear, both the parents and the child, all flew,” he said.

The family embarked on flight CZ626, scheduled for departure at 12:30am. Their destination: Guangzhou, China.

The incident has since ignited discussions online, with netizens speculating about the circumstances surrounding the teenage girl’s firm stance.

“Maybe she has a Balinese boyfriend and thus refused to leave,” said @insanbhuwana.

“Bali makes you feel like home,” said @soekamto_soekamto.
