Tabanan woman dies in hospital, alleged OD after night of ecstasy and drinking

A young Balinese women is suspected to have died from a drug overdose after a night of alleged heavy drinking and ecstasy consumption with her boyfriend.

Ni Kadek Putriani passed away on Monday morning. 

The 24-year-old Tabanan woman had been out the evening before since 5 pm with her boyfriend, I Made Wijana, 36. The couple allegedly drank excessively and took ecstasy. 

Then, on Monday morning, Putriani was rushed to the hospital when she started vomiting uncontrollably. But unfortunately, the young woman could not be revived and died at Bhakti Rahayu Hospital at 10 am, reports Tribun Bali

Tabanan City Police Chief Commissioner Ida Bagus Putra confirmed with local media that Putriani’s body had been transported to Denpasar’s Sanglah Hospital for an autopsy. 

“Currently, the body is already at Sanglah Hospital for an autopsy, in order to know the exact cause of death,” Putra said. 

Putra also elaborated on Putriani’s relationship status to reporters, explaining that the young couple had already been dating for five years and both families were aware of the relationship.
