Indonesian police have hunted down a suspect in the alleged murder of a Dutchman whose bloodied body was discovered in Bali last week.

Robert Gilhooad’s rotting, maggot-infested corpse was found in the quiet Jimbaran neighborhood of Puri Gading on Nov. 3. Lying on a mattress with an axe to the side, the body’s condition indicated he had died up to a week before he was found, police said.

Identified by initials WW, the alleged perpetrator was arrested in Lampung, South Sumatra on Tuesday morning in a coordinated effort between Denpasar’s Criminal Investigation Unit and Lampung Police.

Police had tracked the victim’s car down to Port of Merak in Banten, Sumatra.

Denpasar Police Chief Hadi Purnomo confirmed the arrest and stated that WW is being transferred from Lampung to Bali.

“Yes, indeed. The alleged perpetrator has been secured. We are coordinating with police colleagues in Lampung to bring him to Bali,” Purnomo told Tribun Bali on Tuesday.

Purnomo says police are awaiting results from an autopsy to confirm the Dutchman’s cause of death.
