With a round of high tides expected to grace Bali shores for the next few days, officials today issued an early warning, cautioning beach-goers to remain alert for any updates.
“[We’ve issued] early warning on high tides around Bali, all the way to West Nusa Tenggara, which are expected to occur until July 7,” Diana Hikmah from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) told Merdeka.
Diana added that the waves are predicted to reach as high as 2.5-4 meters across several locations, including Kuta, Tanah Lot, Pecatu and Ungasan.
Sani, one of the street sellers along Kuta Beach, also told Merdeka that waves have rolled so far into land that some sellers such as herself have been forced to move from their usual spots.
Meanwhile, high tides also appear to be affecting tourist activities in Tanah Lot, some areas of which were closed off temporarily earlier this afternoon.

“Those who are planning to conduct any activities along the coast must always pay attention to updates from us. If it looks dangerous, it is advisable to heed any guidance from local officers,” Diana from BMKG said.
