Mule claims he was paid Rp 6 million to smuggle drugs up his bum from Malaysia into Bali

An alleged drug courier is claiming to have earned a sum of Rp 6 million to traffic drugs from Malaysia into Bali.

Naiman, from Madura, East Java, allegedly hid 70.20 grams of methamphetamine up his buttocks when traveling to Bali.

Bali Ngurah Rai Airport Customs Chief Budi Harjanto said the alleged mule arrived in Bali on a flight from KL to Denpasar on Tuesday around 8 pm and that authorities had been keeping an eye on him.

“According to the passenger manifest, the alleged perpetrator was targeted. The perpetrator was arrested under suspicion as he passed through the x-ray luggage inspection,” Harjanto said, as quoted by Sindo News.

“We brought him to BIMC Hospital to examine him using tool scans and x-rays. Sure enough, the perpetrator had drugs on his body.”

The drug suspect confessed to earning Rp 6 million for the drug drop into Indonesia, Bali National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Director Ketut Artha told the press.

“He said he had taken drugs from Malaysia several times. He earned Rp 6 million for one way,” Sindo News quoted Artha as saying.
