Missing Ubud teen returns home

A teen who had been missing since Sunday, has finally returned to her Ubud home, physically unharmed.

Ni Putu Putri Handayani went out to Gianyar on her motorbike on Sunday and had her family worried sick, when they heard nothing from her and were unable to reach her until she finally came home on Thursday.

Reports were made to the police and neighborhood banjar, while the family also tried to use social media to get the word out about the missing 17-year-old.

To her family’s relief, Handayani reportedly came back on Thursday, after apparently staying at the house of a male friend, 10 years her senior.

“Thank god our daughter has returned unharmed. Sorry we cannot yet give full details, we want Ubud Police to revoke the report we filed,” the girl’s father, Made Suanda told Tribun Bali yesterday.

The family says they’ve asked the Child Protection Agency (PPA) Gianyar to examine Handayani’s condition, upon returning home.

The teen’s uncle, I Nyoman Rai Adnyana, 39, said the parents of the friend Handayani was staying with sent her home after news broke that she was reported missing.
