Military, police officers arrested in Bali on drug courier allegations

Two officers of the Indonesian military along with a police officer have been arrested in Sanur, Bali for allegedly acting as meth couriers.

The arrest was made on Saturday.

The officers have reportedly been submitted to the military and police respectively for further examination.

Bali Police Insp. Gen. Sugeng Priyanto communicated the police force’s commitment to cracking down on crime, especially drug-related stuff.

“We police, are concerned about the case involving military and police as suspected drug couriers. We have submitted the unscrupulous military and police officers (to their institutions) and will continue to deal with them firmly until proven innocent or guilty,” Priyanto said on Monday, as quoted by Kompas

UPDATE: The arrests were apparently made in connection with the two foreigners (Briton and Aussie) recently arrested in Bali over hashish.
