A hang gliding athlete competing at Indonesia’s 20th National Games (PON) was hospitalized after he crashed through the roof of a house in Jayapura, Papua yesterday afternoon.

A clip of people attempting to rescue Anas as he was stuck and dangling from the roof after the crash has been circulating widely online.

West Sumatra Hang Gliding Coach, Philips R Sakti, told local media outlets that Anas may not have been accustomed to the hang glider he was using, which led to the unfortunate incident.

Anas’ CT scan did not indicate any major injuries, but the athlete is still under observation as doctors await results of medical scans on his back to figure out any next steps.

The 20th PON began over the weekend and is set to take place until Oct. 15 in and around Jayapura, as well as the regencies of Mimika and Merauke.
