The health section of Coconuts Bali covers a range of stories, many of them stemming from mosquito-borne diseases—developments within the ‘hottest’ tropical diseases (e.g. dengue, zika virus) on the island. Bali has invited the public to take up with the “War on Mosquitoes,” no joke. Those nasty little biters are responsible for so much sickness and suffering on this island. Though all disease carriers in Bali are not as deplorable as mosquitoes. The island is also struggling with rabies, which is most frequently transmitted from dog bites. And every now and then, the health section gets updated with stories on Bali’s questionable food and drug regulations, like a handful of harmful chemicals being found in cosmetics or street food, for example.
