Dead fetus found in coconut on Sanur’s Padang Galak Beach

Local residents were horrified to stumble upon a dead fetus at a Sanur beach on Thursday.

There was a apparently a terrible, mysterious smell at Padang Galak Beach yesterday morning.

“After checking things out, the smell was coming from inside a coconut. Once opened, it turned out there was a small baby in it,” Tribun Bali quoted an unnamed police officer as saying.

The body was reportedly evacuated to the forensics department of Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar.

The fetus was only about four or five months after conception and the sex was male, according to head of Sanglah forensics, Dr. Dudut Rustyadi.

“The fetus was not capable yet of living outside of the womb,” Rustyadi said.

The chief of East Denpasar Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit, Nyoman Darsana, confirmed the shocking discovery to local media.
