Bali Police say they are close on the heels of Malaysian and Australian Kerobokan Prison escapees

The plot thickens for the two outstanding escapees from last month’s bold Bali jailbreak that saw four inmates tunnel their way to freedom. The sweet taste of unbridled living was cut short for two of the men, who were nabbed after an impressive journey that saw them travel from Bali to another island via plane, and later by boat to East Timor, where they were picked up by police.

Still unaccounted for? Malaysian drug smuggler Tee Kok King and Australian Facebook sensation Shaun Edward Davidson.

Since their escape, Davidson’s presence and activity on social media has caused quite the stir, with Australian news investigators wondering just how the inmate was able to tweet, update his feed, and also live video blog from inside Kerobokan prison. Good to know that although Bali prison conditions may be squalid, you can always count on decent coverage to get you through the lonely nights.

His personal Facebook page that has been active since his escape has been called a hoax by police, saying that proxies were updating from Dubai, Germany and Thailand.

The Courier Mail is now reporting that police have narrowed where the two are hiding, and presumably will be there really soon. Like how soon? In time for lunch soon? Or “we missed them again” soon?

The extent of the network needed to facilitate the prisoners’ escape has unfolded in recent weeks with prison guards, travel agents, and fixers all being interrogated by the police in a bid to track down their location.

Police Chief Petrus Reinhard Golose has also alluded to “a new suspect.” Saying that “later, I will explain about it after we conduct the reenactment.”
