Slave to the Rhythm? Enter our giveaway to see pop icon Grace Jones for FREE at Potato Head Bali!

THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED.

When it comes to icons of our time, it doesn’t get much more iconic than legendary pop and fashion sensation Grace Jones. Despite being well into her sixties now (not that she looks or acts it), the Jamaican-American queen of glamorous androgyny is still playing to tens of thousands of fans at music festivals across the world.

On Saturday Oct. 8, however, Jones will be following in the footsteps of the likes of Ellie Goulding, Snoop Lion (that’s Snoop Dog to me, you, and everyone else in the world), Mark Ronson and John Legend in playing an intimate gig at Potato Head Beach Club Bali. It’ll be the first time ever Jones has performed on the Island of the Gods, making this a once in a lifetime gig for everyone involved.

Grace Jones

Jones started out as a model in New York, with her trademark edgy look earning her covers on Vogue, Elle and many more high fashion magazines. In the late 70s she signed a record deal and began to release her own distinctive style of New Wave and Post Disco tunes, most notably with “Pull Up to the Bumper”, “Slave to the Rhythm” and out-of-the-box covers of Sting’s “Demolition Man”, Iggy Pop and David Bowie’s “Nightclubbing” and Roxy Music’s “Love is the Drug”.

She was a huge influence in the 1980s cross-dressing movement and is said to have inspired visionary artists including Lady Gaga, Nile Rodgers, Lorde, Annie Lennox and Rihanna.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Jones is also known for her cult film roles, most famously as Zula alongside Arnie in “Conan the Destroyer”, and in the James Bond film “A View to a Kill”.

To see this ever-impressive woman strut her stuff in close proximity (and for free), enter our awesome giveaway.
