Two H1N1 patients in Yangon have been discharged after doctors deemed them healthy enough to no longer require hospitalization.

According to Mizzima, the two patients were a husband and wife duo, with the former being a doctor himself. They were two of three patients admitted to the North Okkalapa General Hospital on July 21. The couple showed signs of improvement throughout their stay, and were released from the hospital on July 31.

As of Monday, there are 51 confirmed cases of H1N1 in the country. So far, ten people have died as a result of the disease.

Dr. Tin Ko Ko Lwin, one of the patients who was discharged on Monday, told Mizzima that it’s important to keep your body and immune system healthy in order to make a full recovery. He advises doing what you would normally do to avoid contracting any other strain of flu, namely, “Get enough sleep, eat foods that are rich in Vitamin C, wash your hands regularly, and avoid crowded places.”
