If you think Yangon’s got it bad heat-wise this summer, be thankful you’re not living in certain other parts of the country where temperatures are predicted to rise above 40 degrees Celsius this week, according to Kumudra.

Weather experts predict that northern Rakhine State, southern Magwe region, northern Ayeyarwaddy region, northern Yangon region, Bago region, and the southern end of the Mandalay region will experience day temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

But that’s not all — in general, Rakhine, Mon, Kayin States, along with the Magwe, Ayeyarwaddy, Mandalay, Yangon, Thanintharyi, and lower Sagaing regions are all expected to encounter day temperatures between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius.

Due to the high temperatures, citizens have been warned to be careful of possible water shortages, sunburns, and fires.

On the bright side, we guess things could be worse — neighboring Thailand is expected to experience 42-43 degrees Celsius this summer, which is actually meant to be a bit cooler than last year.
