A well-known local businessman was shot and killed in a mob-style shooting in broad daylight yesterday in a border-town in Myanmar’s Eastern Shan State.
U Ar Far, who owned a gold shop and petrol station in the area, was waiting at a traffic light when two unknown motorcyclists pulled up to his car, then shot and killed him in front of a market in Tachilek’s town center, police told Tachilek News Agency.
“I came out to look when I heard gunshots. Then I saw a dead body in a car parked in front of the traffic light. I heard that the two motorcyclists were men,” a man at the scene told the local news agency.

Police contacted by Coconuts Yangon declined to offer further information as it is an ongoing investigation.
