Those are the opening lines of “Of Roots and Wings”, an epic personal history of life in Yangon dating back to the colonial era. Author Wai Wai Myaing reads from the memoir at Myanm/art on Saturday. Literary types, don’t miss this.

Poetry reading at Pansuriya (Sunday)
Gallery-restaurant Pansuriya hosts the book launch of “Tho…Thu Ma (To her) Poem Collection”, featuring readings from the collection as well as from other poets. A question and answer session will also be held. The Facebook description promises “energetic souls filled with poetry”. Awesome.
