Work from home, study from home, live from home. That’s our reality and with it comes an assumption of safely shopping from home.
Not so for some, like this Macpherson Garden Estate resident who shared security footage of what appears to be a woman nonchalantly making off yesterday with a parcel left hanging on his entry gate.
In the clip, a masked woman in green walks by and then returns to lift the parcel from where it was left hanging. She appears to read over the label – perhaps performatively – before strolling away. The clip was posted to Facebook by a David Loh this morning.
“Someone stole my delivered items!!” he wrote.
In fact, that may not be the case. Reached for comment, Loh, 58, responded after this story was published to say that he didn’t report it to the police because he wasn’t expecting a package that day, and it could have been a wrong delivery all along.
“I [am] not sure [what] is inside the bag. Might be wrong delivery…But she is wrong to take [it] from [the] gate. Should wait for me and collect from me,” he wrote. “I got no chance to see [because] 30 mins after [the] delivery, the lady took away.”
The footage is timestamped early Thursday evening. At first, the woman strolls past his gate, where she spots the brown bag hanging. Moments later, she returns to grab the bag.
At least he didn’t have to watch his new swag get chewed on, like this Redditor who shared his newly delivered tablet stolen by a monkey who then used it as a toothpick.
Update: This story has been updated with additional statements from Loh.
