Yesterday’s exploding manhole has inspired Singapore to make light of the situation.
Like the flames that erupted in Bukit Batok, a firestorm of memes has flooded feeds with everything from superheroes to politicians.
It all started with the explosive and fiery ejection of a telco manhole yesterday at Blk 439 Bukit Batok West.
Fortunately, no one was injured and it was believed to be an accident.
It was exciting enough to inspire our imaginations that soon put the Hulk, Thor and Iron Man, as well as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Ranger’s villain Rita Repulsa peeking out from the depths.
The explosion as a teaser for the next Spider Man installment.
Local lawmaker Amy Khor, who went to the site after the incident, was also dragged into the meme universe with users dressing her up as Thor with multiple references to the character as well as her in a costume from popular Manga series Attack on Titan.
