Singapore trolls had too much fun recently trying to one-up one another by coming up with the most ridiculously inaccurate labels for places in the comments sections of a viral Facebook post.

A post by troll account Travel Scotland Goals, which deliberately mislabels the captions on photos of famous places, went viral last night with over 2,000 comments from users tagging people like Minister for Communications and Information Josephine Teo as the Duchess of Cambridge and places like the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve as Mount Everest.

“Can’t believe there is people from Singapore who have hijacked my comments section on this post and their comments are brilliant 😂😂,” Travel Scotland Goals wrote last night.

The trolling was kickstarted by a June post from Travel Scotland Goals that featured a photo of the iconic waterfall in Jewel Changi Airport that was captioned “Almondvale Shopping Centre, Livingston.”

However it wasn’t until recently that the post gained traction among Singaporeans, with local users joining in on the fun by posting photos such as one identifying Senior Minister of State for Transport, and Sustainability and the Environment Amy Khor as Gordon Ramsay and another labeling the iconic Merlion the “Loch Ness Monster.”

Even Changi Airport’s official account participated by tagging the t-rex from the Changi Jurassic Mile as “Jurassic World Dominion,” the latest installment of the Jurassic Park movie franchise.

The infamous woman who ripped off the license plate in a viral incident earlier this month was also labeled as the “World[‘s] Strongest Woman 2022 Champion.”
