As much as we desperately want some semblance of winter around this part of the world (think of all the layers we can finally wear!), climate change just isn’t there yet. What we get, however, is wet weather that’s expected to carry on into the second half of November.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) made the announcement that Singapore’s transitioning into the Northeast Monsoon season, which is expected to last until March 2018. For now, however, you can expect moderate to heavy thundery showers mostly in the afternoons and evenings for the rest of the month. NEA also predicts widespread downpours and gusty winds between the predawn and early morning on one or two days. A tree fell in Geylang on Tuesday during a thunderstorm, so that should tell you how heavy things can get.

The cooling period will carry on until December — the wettest month of the year — and daily temperature on most days could range between 24°C and 33°C. Despite the wet season, there could be a couple of warm days in the last two weeks of November, and things could get as hot as 34°C. On the other end of the spectrum though, Singapore could go as low as 22°C on really rainy days. Layer up, brollies out.
