Before a university student could make much use of his new tablet, it had to pass inspection – cheeky monkey inspection.
Unfortunately, that consisted of chewing on the device – packaging and everything – just outside a dorm window at Nanyang Technological University, or NTU, according to photos that found their way to Reddit last night. It was just the latest monkey business to plague the campus, where students have been complaining of a simian incursion.
“In continuation of the NTU monkey invasion saga, here’s my drawing tablet getting chomped on by monkeys,” Redditor Jeff_98 wrote.
Jeff added in the comments that a friend was tasked with holding the parcel first, but the macaque “barged in” and stole it along with a loaf of bread when she left the window open.
Did the tablet survive the attack? Brutally, after falling from height, only the pen was alive.
“Miraculously it lost interest in the tablet, and even after falling 3 floors the pen still works, [I don’t know] if [I’m] lucky or unlucky,” he replied to a comment.
Monkeys are a common sight at the university located near forest area housing other wildlife including boars and monitor lizards. On Monday, a monkey broke into another dorm room and sent its human occupant running after it jumped onto the bed.
No monkeys but most of the tablet was harmed in making this story.
