The man believed to have killed his housemate during a heated early morning dispute on Wednesday has been brought to court and charged with murder, according to various media reports.

Mohammad Rosli Abdul Rahim, 48, is accused of killing Mohammad Roslan Zaini in the hours between 1am and 4:33am on Aug 16. The 35-year-old’s body was found on a pavement near Block 165A along Teck Whye Crescent, where he and Rosli resided at a two-room unit on the fourth storey.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident was believed to have erupted from a dispute between the suspect and the deceased, and the latter was stabbed in the chest. The suspect was arrested on the same day.

If convicted of murder, Rosli will face the death penalty — he’ll appear in court again on Aug 25.
