Friday, Oct 13

The group exhibition at the Esplanade Tunnel features artworks by 38 local artists who have journeyed with the centre for the past 15 years. All the pieces exhibited will be up for an online action from Oct 19 to Nov 19, so if you like what you see, lend a hand to Esplanade’s free programmes by purchasing the work and bringing it home.

Forever Crazy — Crazy Horse Paris

The iconic Parisian cabaret dances its way into our theatres with the “Best Of” selection of acts from its 65-year repertoire.

Forever Young

The Sing’theatre production set in 2067 revolves around a group of former actors who’re now living in a nursing home. But what their nurse doesn’t know is that after she exits the room, the wigs and dentures come off, and the actors dive into character once again.

Until Oct 21; various timings at SOTA Drama Theatre. $44-$69.

Fred Perry Subculture Live

Watch talents like Gary Powell, drummer of English rock band The Libertines, do a DJ set, as well as Astreal and The Betts take the stage at The Esplanade. To keep you entertained, there’s also The Gaming Room by PlayStation Music and portraits and stories from icons and innovators.

6:30pm-midnight at Esplanade Annexe Studio. Free.

Meats & Beats

Celebrate Friday the 13th with house and tech house beats by DJs Stephen Day and Shane O’Neill, as well as booze and hearty grub by the Keong Saik Road eatery.

5pm-late at Butcher Boy. Free.

Metro Wine Fair

Metro Singapore’s first wine fair features bottles from vineyards in Spain, Australia, France, and Chile, with prices that range from $15 to $150. Wine-pairing workshops are also available.

Until Oct 22 at L4, Metro Centrepoint. Free; ticketed for workshops.

Qoo10 Digital Fair

The e-commerce retail platform goes offline for the first time to host its Digital Fair at the Orchard Road mall. Check it out for deals from the likes of Stereo, Dell Exclusive Store, and Red Dot Photo.

Savourworld Oktoberfest

Head over to Jurong for an Oktoberfest celebration that includes truckloads of beer, traditional German fare like crispy pork knuckle, rotisserie chicken and sausages, and performances by the six-piece Oompah Band.

World Snack Fair

Snackoholics are welcome to swing by this Japanese snack paradise, which features character cafes, a cup noodle zone, a liquor section, toys galore, and a photo-taking corner. Cosplayers, it seems, are also welcome to make an appearance in full costume.

Got To Move

Singapore’s largest dance movement Got To Move returns in its third edition this year, with over 220 free dance programmes and activities for all to shake it to. Workshops, classes, competitions and performances galore.

Saturday, Oct 14

Downtown Line 3 Open House

Be one of the first (among train otakus) to check out the 16 new stations along the Downtown Line — there’ll be free rides at the event, as well as games and activities for everyone in the family.

10am-6pm at Downtown Line. Free.

Haji Lane Party

The ’90s and ’80s edition of this street party brings you the beats of R&B and hip hop, with free shots for the first 300 people and plenty of margaritas to go around.

5pm-midnight at Piedra Negra and Blu Jaz. Free.

Mox Open House

If you haven’t checked out the cool new Katong co-working space, this weekend’s the time to do it, ’cause Mox is hosting its first open house. Designed with makers, craftsmen, designers and creatives in mind, the space takes up three levels in the newly-revamped Katong Point mall, with retail shops, cafes, workshop rooms, and specialty rooms like a photography studio and a 3D printing area.

Odyssey Presents: 3×3

Make a splash at Wave House Sentosa as the party rages on from day to night with a line-up that includes Booka Shade, The Magician, Eli & Fur, and Jasmine Sokko.

Sunday, Oct 15

Mr. Big

The ’90s hard rock outfit returns to our neck of the woods — with pitstops in Taiwan, Malaysia and the Philippines as well — armed with their ninth studio album, Defying Gravity.
