Ultra what? There’s a new dance music festival in town, and it answers to the name Legacy. So if you’re all partied out after 18 years of ZoukOut Singapore, perhaps this fresh rave will get you excited again. A homegrown brand helmed by a group of local DJs and creatives, the event plans to set the shores of Siloso Beach ablaze over two days in December.
We’ve still got four months till Legacy Festival, but its phase one performers have already been announced: Tiësto and Don Diablo take the headlining slots, along with Cosmic Gate, Mark Sixma, and Swanky Tunes. More “top international DJs” will be added to the line-up next month, according to the fest.
Put together by festival director DJ Andrew T, the current Diamond Life resident at Cé La Vi and one of the founders of the AOS Collective, the organizing team includes bigwigs from AC Music Entertainment (they were one of the partners behind Skechers Sundown Festival this year) and Aurora Media.
It’ll be set to the theme “A New Dawn,” with music, digital art, and “immersive technology” adding to the experience. Because, y’know, good music itself isn’t enough these days. Also look out for radio-controlled wrist bands that’ll help create one of those flash pattern visual effects once the crowd gets going.
Of the event, Andrew T said, “our festival is all-inclusive and for the masses, it will be energetic, friendly and progressive.”
Sure sounds pretty similar to ZoukOut, but hey, the more all-night shindigs at Sentosa, the better for us merrymakers.
