Whiskit Bakery & Cafe, a relatively new spot known for its tarts and cakes, has made a rep for itself as a supporter of local flavors. With goods baked fresh daily, it takes residence in a sleepier part of Chinatown, splashing pink hues all over its walls, with a backdrop of blooms that could make any dessert look good.

Prices are pretty decent here, with the most expensive tart going for $8. Besides regular flavors like mango sago, matcha raspberry, salted caramel, and lemon meringue, you can also get unusual, locally-inspired ones like orh nee (yam), bandung raspberry, milo, and kaya ondeh. These all go on display in rotation, but you can always order ’em online.

The cafe is also popular for its customized cakes made gorgeous with a rainbow of fruits, macarons, and petals, as well as loaf cakes (Earl Grey lavender, matcha goji), cheesecakes (tofu lemon, pumpkin), and party-size cakes in flavors such as orange blossom, lemon chocolate, and strawberry shortcake.

Swing by the next time you need an IG-worthy dessert.
