International Burger Day comes around every year on May 28, and it’s a great excuse to celebrate one of the best foods in the world. (We shudder to think what life would be like without burgers — and fries).
This year, Los Angeles burger joint 25 Degrees is bringing in the big guns with an Ultimate Burger that will basically satisfy your meat sandwich cravings for at least a month (or two). Wobbling at a massive 15cm height, the carb- and protein-loaded hunker weighs a whopping 1kg on the scales.
Packed in between multiple layers of fluffy brioche buns: a juicy US Angus beef patty, a tender turkey patty, and a crispy chunk of buttermilk deep fried chicken breast. But it doesn’t stop there — melted cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, butterhead lettuce and avocados are also stuffed into the monstrous meat creation, which is then slathered with the restaurant’s secret sauce. Oh, and the burger comes with a side of onions, tomatoes and pickles, but those are just mere trimmings compared to the main event.
So bring a friend or chow down on the entire thing yourself — either way, it clocks in at a rather affordable $28. There’re always other appetite-inducing offerings, in any case.
